This year since Bill has become a teacher he was given a whole week off for Thanksgiving Break. On Monday we drove up to Ocala where we meet up with Betsy to get our teeth cleaned and take a little break from driving. After she was done making our smiles look BEAUTIFUL, we all went out to lunch at a little Mexican Restaurant. Then it was back on the road and off to Perry. We arrived in Perry around 7pm and visited with Great Grandpa Hoyt and Grandma and Grandpa Kimble.
The next morning we waited for Uncle David to arrive and then ate a wonderful breakfast prepared by Grandma Mona. Then we kicked the men out of the house to fix the cow pen and off to the grocery store we went. When we got back we cleaned up breakfast and then treated the boys to some sandwiches for lunch. Then it was back to the kitchen to cook some dinner and get ready for the next day.
On Wednesday Mona and I cleaned the house and prepared dinner. Mona made the house SPARKLE!! Then it was back out to the boys for some lunch and a treat of Jalapeno Cornbread and then off to Mickey's to pet the horses and pick some delicious greens. That night we welcomed Betsy, Jason, and Wil into the house and got a chance to watch Wil and Wyatt wrassle around the floor.
Thursday (Thanksgiving) Becky, Kevin, and Camden arrived. As did Grandma Jane, Aunt Karen, and Uncle Richard. The house was full of people and wonderful smells as we cooked up a storm getting the meal ready. AND BOY WAS IT DELICIOUS!!
After supper we waited for Aunt Mary, Uncle David, James, and Sarah to show up so we could start our own little fireworks display.
Everyone had a BLAST!!
The next day we had a little banana eating contest on the porch and then we all hopped in our cars and headed our own separate ways.
On Saturday Bill, Wyatt and I all meet up with Katie and Brian at Cheddars for a post Thanksgiving meal and some family visiting!! It was so nice to see so much family during the break!
All in all it was a wonderful Thanksgiving break full of walks around the farm, visiting with family, laughing at the Cousins interact, and great food. Thanks to Grandma Mona for helping to prepare such a wonderful celebration, and to Great Grandpa Hoyt for letting us run around his farm. And to everyone else because whether it was fixing cow pens, eating pie, or just lounging around we had a wonderful time and our so thankful to have had the chance to spend time with family during the holidays.
