Spring Break Picnic

Yesterday Bill and I decided to take the kids to Bok Tower and have a spring picnic.
Bok Tower is a 205ft tower that houses a 60 bell carillon.
It was built for Edward Bok a Pulitzer Prize winning author during 1927-1929.
Edward Bok dies shortly after the tower was built in 1930 and is buried in front of the entrance to the tower.
The weather was absolutely perfect and it was a great time to explore the gardens around the tower and see the azaleas in bloom. We also got the chance to enjoy a carillon concert and watched the carilloneur play from a screen they had set up in the garden near the tower. Wyatt and Ramona loved exploring the gardens and watching the geese and the koi in the pond around the tower.

Our Wild and Crazy Life Update!!!

Dear Family and Friends,
I know it's been awhile since we posted anything, so I just wanted to take some time to update everyone on what has been going on with the Kimble Family.
In January I started school again to start my journey to pursue an RN. Right now I am taking Anatomy and Physiology I, and am loving every minute of it. I have a great teacher, and a wonderful study group. I am constantly challenged, but it's been so nice to be back in school again. Bill has been a wonderful support for me, but I know we are both looking forward to some much needed family time over spring break.
Bill has also been working really hard lately, trying to get his first official black box production, of Three Musketeers, off the ground. He's really proud of all the work he and his students have accomplished and I can't wait till date night to enjoy the end result.
Wyatt and Ramona are doing wonderfully. Since Christmas, Ramona has gotten her second bottom tooth, and she is crawling everywhere. She has also started pulling herself up on everything within reach. I don't think crawling is cutting it for her, she wants to chase Big Brother. Wyatt has been such a big help with his little sister. He loves playing with her and they have become best buds. He's talking and singing up a storm. I've been taking both of them to the YMCA where they get to play with other kids for a couple hours everyday which they seem to really enjoy, and the ladies there get a kick out of them.
I normally don't post Velsa's news on the blog, but since she has had a busy month as well I feel it's important to include her in this post. On Feb 14th (Valentine's Day) Bill was grilling out in the backyard for our Valentine's Day Feast when he noticed that the gate had been bumped open, and that Vesla was missing. Had we been in Wyoming or Perry we wouldn't really be worried about it, because she always seems to find her way home. However, with so many busy roads around our house, we were really worried that she may have gotten herself into trouble. Since it was a Sunday we also couldn't find out if she had been picked up by animal control so we spent the night hoping and praying that she was okay. The next day I called Animal Control, and was relieved to find that Vesla was picked up and was safe. We went to go pick her up thinking we would just pay a small impound fee and be on her way. Not the case. In Polk County, not only do you pay an impound fee, but you pay boarding fees, shot fees, licensing fees, a microchip fee (it is required by law that dogs have them, and we we're surprised to learn that Vesla already has one), and last but not least a TICKET!!! So after bailing our runaway beagle out of jail, we were free to go home. We did however get the funniest mug shot of Vesla!!!
It's been a busy couple months for us, but all in all we're doing really well. I don't have pictures to post this time, but I will try to get some up soon. I hope everyone is doing well, and we hope to catch up with everyone soon.

Christmas 2009

This year for Christmas Becka's mom, twin sisters (Beth and Hannah), and younger brother John came down to visit us for their Christmas break. During their stay we were also joined by Louisa (Becka's friend from College and Ramona's Godmother), who was traveling up and down the east coast for her holiday break. We had such a great time with them while they were down here.

On Christmas Eve we went to the Christmas Pageant at the Episcopal Church in town. We are currently searching for a church to attend, and we thought Christmas would be a great time to check out a service. After a lovely pageant we headed home to trim the tree and enjoy a dinner of homemade pizza, and open Grammy Lynn's traditional Christmas Eve gift of New Pajamas!! Wyatt received TWO pairs of Thomas the Tank Engine PJ's, and Ramona received the cutest pair of reindeer pajamas!!
The next day (Christmas) we slept in until 8am and then started to work on our breakfast quiches. The Kazimer Family came over around 10am to enjoy a Christmas Brunch and open presents. It was nice to do Christmas a little later; something we know will change once Wyatt, and Ramona start understanding the holiday. We were very blessed this holiday. Wyatt got plenty of trucks and games, and he even got a play tent w/tunnel from Grammy Lynn which he loves playing in. Ramona got an Exersaucer, some board books to chew on, and her FIRST TOOTH!!! For a family gift we got a membership to the YMCA which we have been putting to good use. That evening for we went to work cooking our Christmas Feast. We decided to be daring this year, so we steered clear of the traditional dishes and came up with our own Mediterranean Christmas Menu.

The Kimble Family Mediterranean Christmas Menu
Appetizer: Pita Chips and Hummus, Black and Green Olives
Salad: Cranberry Walnut Spring Mix Salad with Blue Cheese, Tomato and Feta Salad
Main Course: Grilled Leg of Lamb Marinated for Two Days in a Rosemary and Lemon Greek Yogurt Marinade, and Baked Potatoes
Dessert: Eclairs and Cream Puffs
We are very proud of ourselves for pulling this meal off, and we're looking forward to trying more daring recipes in the future.

The next day we went down to Ft. Myers where we all met up with Tracy and Terry Schwab (our friends from Wyoming), at the Thomas Edison/Henry Ford Estates. We had a great time catching up with old friends and watching Wyatt run around the beautiful gardens of the estate. From there we took the Kazimer family to Sanibel Island to show them the Gulf Coast. John and Hannah stayed ashore while Grammy Lynn and Aunt Beth both took turns conquering the waves. It was nice to be able to enjoy the beach at sunset.
For the rest of the stay we enjoyed lounging around the house, playing with all the new toys and games everyone had gotten for Christmas and eating delicious food. We also got a chance to go up to Dunnellon to see Becka's Great Uncle Harry and his wife Jean. We had such a lovely visit with them and we enjoyed hearing Harry's state trooper stories, and Harry and Jean's golf tales. We also got a kick out of Aunt Jean's collection of musical Christmas Animals.

The next day we said our goodbye's to Louisa, as she headed off on the next leg of her road trip adventure. It was so great having her with us during the holiday, we feel blessed to have such an amazing friend.
The rest of the day was spent enjoying each others company and getting in a few more games. That night we said our goodbye's to the Kazimer Family since they had to leave for Boston early the next morning. I think we can all agree that the week went by way too quickly!! It was sad to see them go, we had such a great week together, and it was great watching Wyatt and Ramona interact with everyone. We are so thankful that they were able to make the trip down here.

The remaining part of Bill's Winter Break we've spent getting the house back in order, and organized for the start of Becka's school year. Becka will be starting class on January 6th every Mon and Wed night. It looks like it's going to be a very busy New Year but we're looking forward to all the challenges and fun times ahead. We've made a family resolution to become more healthy and active parents, and to put aside more time for family time. This will be really important since we will all be going in so many different directions from now until June. Happy Birthday Luke Daniel Bailey

Luke Daniel Bailey has arrived! On November 2, 2009 at 2:12am Kevin and Becky Bailey welcomed their newest addition weighing 9lbs 2oz and 21 1/2in long. Mom and baby are doing great and recovering well. Congrats to Kevin, Becky and Big Brother Camden! Happy Birthday Luke!!
